No Bakes and Peanut butter fudge from aunt Tracy

Peanut Butter Fudge                                 Makes 6 lbs.

5 Cups White Sugar                                       1 – 2 ½ lb. Jar of Smooth Peanut Butter

    1 – 12oz. Can Evaporated Milk                    1- 7oz. Jar Marshmallow Crème

(Use a Large Heavy Cooking Pan)

Boil Sugar and Evaporated Milk slowly for about 7 minutes from the time it starts to boil. (Stir Constantly so it does not burn)

Remove from heat and add Marshmallow Crème and Peanut Butter. (Stir rapidly)

Pour into a large buttered pan (16x11).  It must be done quickly, because it sets in a hurry.  Its best to cut it before it gets too cold.

Sometimes I break a large Hershey chocolate bar and put it on top, as it melts, swirl it through the fudge.

Chew On This: Everything You Don't Want to Know About Fast Food

    Eye Opening

From Chew On This  by Eric Schlosser & Charles Wilson

"During the course of a year, the typical American child watches more than 40,000 TV commercials. About 20,000 of those ads are for junk food: soda, candy, breakfast cereals, and fast food. That means children now see a junk-food ad every five minutes while watching TV-- and see about three hours of junk-food ads every week."

This makes me want to watch a whole lot less TV. If I think about the commeicals I see, I can think of lots that are about food. Today I did not turn the TV on and don't plan to later.

I got a letter in the mail today from my credit card, they are increasing my annual percentage rate (APR). I have never missed a payment, made a late payment, or gone over my credit. I have over a 700 credit score. But they are acting like I am not a great customer. One thing I have learned about banks is that they only make money off of people who don't have good credit or don't pay there bills. Well, I'm out, I don't need the card and I am closing the account. CASH IS THE WAY TO GO!!

  • E-ZPass is right!!!

My Husband is out on the eastern shore and I have to cross the Bay Bridge in Maryland to get to him. The bridge is a toll road and there is always traffic to cross the bridge, no matter what time to are crossing in the summer. Well, I made it a little easier on myself and got an E-ZPass.  It cost $21(one time fee) just for the pass, then you add the cost of the toll($2.50). Here is where it gets good. On my way out here this weekend, I came up to the bridge and there had to be over a mile of traffic at the toll. I got into the E-ZPass line and pasted all the cars by and paid the toll and was on the bridge in under 5 minutes.  It was great not having to set in all that traffic. This thing is going to pay for it's self in no time.

    Feeling good today

I have not posted anything in some time and I do have a lot to post/Blog. About a week two weeks ago I when on a trip to Las Vages for my little borthers wedding. I have lots of photos and stories about the trip.  I had a good time but I don't want to go back to Las Vages again. That is not my type of town.

Anyway, I'm writing today because I'm feeling good today and I'm feeling like a new person. I don't know what happened last night to me, but I'm on top of my game today.  I hope this last. I'm working on myself. I know I can be a better person and do more then now. I have in the past. So today is a new day in my new world. I'm awake and I can see the hope in this world.

I'm late in posting this, but I still wanted to put it up.

I took part in the Home Depot 2008 Cashier Olympics. Each store comes up with a float then all the stores meet a one store for the olympics. There are 7 stores in this area.

At my store we did Wizard of Oz, "There's no place like Home Depot."

This is our float. It is a house with witch feet hanging out one side. There is a tornado in the back with the word lowes in it and a newspaper that says "Home Depot blows Lowes away."

Day off from work, but not from life

I started off the day by sleeping in.   I run out around 12noon and stopped by the post office. I got some good mail. I then stopped for gas, but they were out of gas.  The other day I saw a station out of gas, but the next day they were up and running again. Today was station #2 out of gas. I live in Maryland, how can we be out of gas. I guess all the storms are messing everyone up.

After stopping for gas I had the oil changed. I stop by Jiffy Lube because they do a good job and are fast.

Then I when to the Vehicle Emissions Inspection Station to have my emissions tested. Ok, not my emissions, the emissions of my car. My car pasted the test and now I'm good till Nov 2010.

When I got home I started the laundry and am cleaning up a little. With the shower coming soon we are working on cleaning the house when ever we can.

It is Monday so my day isn't over yet. Every monday I visit a friend that can't get out much. Now I have to get back to life work.
